I recently (2014) became the director of the Paramedic program at UVU, and I am fortunate to work with instructors who are recognized as being some of the most progressive, and talented individuals in Utah EMS. At this time, he is working on a textbook psychology book with others presenting humanistic psychology’s perspective on the general psychology topic areas.

Rodger began his professional career in law enforcement where he was made a field training officer (FTO) within the first 3 years of his service.

My background in Fire/EMS began with Orem City as a reserve, then full time in 1988 until my retirement in 2009. in Emergency Care and Rescue from Weber State, and an A. Rodger taught lead in the West Jordan fire recruit academy and later in the Salt Lake Fire Alliance Academy at the Salt Lake City Fire Training Center.

I continue to work with Lone Peak Fire District, as a Paramedic, to stay in the game I love so much. Rodger developed the West Jordan Haz-Mat Response team through coordinating training and procuring equipment through federal grant monies.

I also work at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center as a Paramedic where I have been employed since 1986. Rodger retired in the position of fire marshal and administrative officer over fire training, medical training, and logistics.

I have taught for Salt Lake Community College, and Peace Officer Standards and Training both in EMS related coursework. Due to his expertise in fire service education, Rodger began teaching as an adjunct instructor for Utah Valley State College (UVSC) in 2000 and later taught in the psychology department too.
